Ice Castles

Tour through an acre-sized winter wonderland located in Hawrelak Park. The experience is hand-crafted using hundreds of thousands of icicles placed by ice artists to resemble frozen waterfalls, glaciers and ice caves. In the castles, you can view breathtaking LED-lit sculptures, frozen thrones, ice-carved tunnels, slides, and fountains. This winter phenomenon is a must-see. See here for more details and opening dates.

Sharpen your skates, it’s time to hit the rink! Just 10 minutes from McConachie you can go skating or play hockey at the Castle Downs Outdoor Ice Rink. The pavilion with a washroom inside is open to the public from 8 am – 10 pm. Check here for current rink conditions.
